Production-spec De Tomaso P72 debuts with a 700 hp V8 engine

De Tomaso Automobili has lastly unveiled the manufacturing model of the P72 supercar. Revealed in idea type on the 2019 Goodwood Competition of Velocity, the P72 is impressed by the 1965 De Tomaso P70.

The De Tomaso P72 relies on a carbon fibre chassis designed to ship optimum weight distribution and a low centre of gravity. It’s geared up with push-rod suspension and 3-way manually adjustable dampers.

The beating coronary heart of the beast is a hand-assembled 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers 700 hp and 605 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 6-speed gearbox that has quick gear ratios for instant and responsive in-gear efficiency.

The P72 is designed to supply an old-school, mechanical driving expertise. The outside seems to be like a racing automobile from the Sixties, and the identical is true for the inside. There aren’t any digital screens or infotainment. As a substitute, you might be greeted by elegant analogue dials and bespoke switchgear with milled aluminium elements.

Manufacturing of the De Tomaso P72 will likely be restricted to 72 models. The automobile showcased in these pictures is the primary inner production-spec unit.
